From the moment I sent the sample back, the experience was spectacular! One thing that I enjoyed the most was getting timely updates through email about the process of the DNA analysis. In every step, I was given a break down of what was being done in the lab. Y’all were also very timely in sending the results in and I’m very impressed that I was able to receive them in less than 6 weeks! I also love the break down of the results, the behavioral and physical traits as well as possible matches! Awesome work!
It was cool it just took a really long time to get done and some of the assumed appearance/behavior traits were really far off. Pretty fun though, wish there was an app or some way to learn more.
Vastly informative, very accurate....I just ordered another test for my two year old dog, I tested him as a three month old using Embark and wasn't satisfied, especially after receiving my Ancestry DNA Dog results!

I absolutely love the fact that I got results on a puppy that I adopted, I should say found us malnutritioned and so bad off. When we took her to the vet she was 5 lb and sick. Not knowing her breed the vet thought she was a terrier mix. That wasn't good enough for me so when I found out that I could get a DNA test to find out what her breed was, that was the greatest thing for me. Results were so surprising, Really fun process.
Nothing changes the love I have for my girl. I was told by the rescue she was half beagle. Wrong hound! 80 % coonhound and 20% lab. That account for all my questions about her size and weight. Her behavioral traits were no surprise. She was voted Miss Congenitality in her training class, sweet, loving, playful and super smart. Ancestry took the question out of the equation. It was easy to obtain her DNA and the results were done in under 4 weeks. Thanks Lexi's Mom
So awesome!! I love being able to check any time I wanted. I did have to wait for them to update me via email or snail mail. So Amazing! I’m pretty sure the nailed it!!
While it was nice to get confirmation about my dog's DNA - the lack of any other information was rather disappointing. I wish that it would take into consideration the metrics my dog has, like fur color, skin color, size, weight, height, eye color, etc. Ancestry also did not have my dogs breed/coloration. Landseer is a newfoundland fur color type and Landseer ECT is the European breed. My dog is an almost purebred Landseer ECT, it'd be nice if the site had more info about this breed because she is not just a black and white... read more
