Dr. Mendez and her staff were kind enough to see my dog Mia when we found a lump in her mouth. It would have taken months to establish care somewhere else. Mia was diagnosed with an aggressive form of cancer that had already spread to her lymph nodes. Dr. Mendez was so kind and caring in her approach to discussing end of life care. Here's the top line: we have 1 dog and 4 cats. We live in a motorhome full-time, travel all around the country continually, Dr. Mendez is our vet and Animal Care Hospital is where we take our pets, period. Unless it's a dire emergency, we wait until we're back in Lompoc so our animals get all their routine (and sometimes not at all routine) care there. Why? I have been with Dr.Mendez since she opened her business. Everyone of the Vets and staff are caring compassionate and well educated in up to date procedures and practices. We are very fortunate to have a place to take our animals where we know they will be well taken care of and loved.
I've lived in a few giant metropolitan areas, and have had many vets to choose from. Even though I've always taken my dog to the best possible, I've ALWAYS experienced vets try to up-sell me things my dog DOESN'T need. They had also treated me like an endless cash cow. This is the ONLY vets office I've been to where I'm not being up-sold on absolutely unecessary additions. Wow, I finally found a place where they care and love my animals as much as I do. I have two dogs and live in solvang, with one dog doing to a vet in town and another going to Animal Care Hospital in Lompoc. AFTER visiting them for a few appointments I'm willing to have BOTH pets seen her despite the 30min drive. YUP, that's how amazing and nice they are. Great Service , they really care about my dogs health , we moved to Lompoc about a year ago and was looking for a clinic to get my dogs fixed, the accommodate us quickly , excellent communication with doctors and staff , my dogs really like them , highly recommend them
Words cannot express how incredibly grateful I am for Dr. Mendez and her staff. My cat Ozzy had started off choking on water....it increasingly got worse and would happen throughout the day. The best care you can get! I have been taking my sweet cat to Dr. Mendez for years, and the staff and all of the Vets at ACH have been as caring as anyone could possibly hope for, even when they are very busy. When my cat died not long ago, they cried with me and were so kind and thoughtful.
