We were staying in the resort and played this and the Fazio course several times. The Hills course played okay (course conditions were pretty good for the last week of March and first week of April) and great feature is the ability to ride bikes with clubs on the two courses. I understand at some times of the day they allow walking. They have an excellent full and short game range open to the public. Have played multiple courses this February at Hilton Head. This course had terrible greens compared to other courses. They should have discounted their price vs. charging more than most other courses.
Never been disappointed with this golf course. Though it can eat lots of balls if you slice a lot.
Favorite course in Hilton Head! there are actual HILLS! Beautiful!!!
Honestly a very good course, worth the money, and one of the better on the island. It's exquisitely picturesque and very well maintained. My group really enjoyed the greens. The fairways are quite narrow, so you can definitely get into trouble, but it's challenging without being un-fun!
The fairways are beautiful however the greens could use some love. Enjoyed the course, not the people. While we were greeted and farewelled well, everyone in between could have used a lesson in smiling and being pleasant (the woman in the pro shop was delightful)! And then there is the false advertising...they indicate that they have Segways as golf carts...we were soo excited! Meh! I thought the course could have been better maintained. There was a dead rat on the cart path on the first hole. The course was littered with debris from the trees. The cart girl stopped service around 1:00? The snack shop served me raw chicken tenders. Not a great experience.
This is one of three golf courses at this resort. Rolling fairways and large mounds on the edges of the fairways make this a distinctive Author Hills golf course. I forgot to mention 10 of the eighteen holes have water in play! The course plays from 5000 yards to 6651 yards and will definitely challenge your skills and patience. The pics I've posted just don't do this place justice, so go and play the course if you have the opportunity.
