There is absolutely NO communication between the patient and clinicians or front office as to what treatment is going to take place when you walk in. My husband asked the front desk TWICE what was being done for his visit and was informed that his cleaning would be a “regular cleaning” by the front office. This is covered 100% by our insurance. After the treatment, they inform him that it will be $130 for “perio maintenance”. My main issue, is that this was NOT communicated at ALL to him and they also did not inform him of w... read more

talk to the patient about their goal before you assume you know what they want.

Yesterday, I went to Aspen Dental – Athens – for my first appointment with them. It was for a routine cleaning, which I have done twice a year, every year. We moved here from California, where I have been seeing the same dentist for decades. At 70 years of age, I have all of my teeth and extremely good oral hygiene habits and practices. To my amazement and disappointment, they “diagnosed” me with periodontal disease that needed $1400 worth of work – my insurance would cover $400 (according to them) – and they had a financing... read more

Honestly I had a not so wonderful experience. My appointment was at 9:00, I was called back for x-rays not long after my scheduled appointment time then sent to an exam room. I sat in the exam room for right at 2 hours without being seen. I was told that the Dr. would be in very soon and when he finally came in, he said he was the only dr working that day. He was very apologetic about taking so long to see me. He told me to come back and he would pull the tooth that was broken and then we would talk about other treatment and... read more

I was so disappointed with my visit. When I made the appointment they put me and my husband down for a cleaning. When we got there They would not do it unless I had the deep cleaning which would have been $225.00 plus I would have to get off my blood thinner for several days before. I am not willing to risk another stroke. I beg them to just do a regular cleaning because I have had regular cleaning every six months for 40 years but they were unsympathetic with me and refused regardless of the possible effect of me getting of... read more

Arrived 15 minutes early and was seen 30 minutes later than appointment time. All I needed was a cleaning and they performed x-rays again and a fluoride treatment and charged me too much. Their credit card system was not operating so I had to pay cash. Seems like they are just a big franchise factory out to make a lot of money.

After reading other reviews, I guess I should be glad they never saw me. I called for an appointment and had to wait a month to be seen (supposedly the soonest they could fit me in). The girl on the phone took my insurance info and said I was good to go. When I finally went in for my appointment, I was told they don't accept my insurance. The front desk staff told me they would still see me, but it would probably be a waste of my time. Very frustrating experience.

My daughter has waited over 4 months to get an appointment for fillings. Dr. Clay was rude, curt, rolled her eyes while filling her teeth. She was in pain during the procedure and the doctor could have cared less. Worst dentist do not go there!!!!

I only wanted to get my teeth cleaned (which my insurance would pay for). However, I was told, after spending 2 hours in the office) that they would not clean my teeth unless I allowed them to repair my gum disease to the tune of $1100. And that I would need to come every 4 months after that to continue treatment which would cost me $350 per visit. I have seen a dentist for years and just saw him 6 months ago. Never has he suggested such treatment and he is a good dentist. I only went to Aspen because my dentist doesn't acce... read more
