Appalled to hear that a woman was told she could not breastfeed her child at this office today. She is protected by Alabama law to breastfeed her child in any place where she is legally allowed to be. I'm very disappointed to hear how you treated one of your patient's this morning! It is disturbing to say the least that one of your employees humiliated her and then assaulted her baby by taking her without permission while she was trying to feed her baby! Guess what, the law trumps whatever "policy" you think you may have. If she has a right to be in your establishment she has the right to nurse her baby period. Aspen, you might want to check in on your Birmingham office. An employee snatched a baby from it's mother's arms and shamed her for breastfeeding. Not only does that suggest a physical assault occurred, but breastfeeding mothers are protected by special laws. This has gone beyond a simple customer service complaint.
I cannot believe that a hygienist removed a nursing child from his mothers arms! Luckily this mama was calm enough to handle the situation because I assure you, if someone put their hands on my baby while he is EATING, there would be hell to pay. I hope this situation is rectified and a public apology is made. I will not recommend this office ever again. Who knows, I may just decide to stroll in one day with my TWO YEAR OLD latched smile emoticon
