We are sorry Ms. ****** is not happy. But she is not a customer or client of At Home. She is the mother of a resident and feels that her daughter should not have to follow the rules set forth in the signed and agreed to lease because the property sold to a new owner. As a property owner who is unfortunately next to one of these rental properties I am disappointed and upset with what you allow your tenants to do. A privacy fence was built by your tenant without regard to having permission, a permit, checking for property boundaries and completely against code. After much dispute with your company and the smoke that kept being blown my way, the fence got removed. We are a management company. We are not the police, nor do we have powers to make people do things they do not want to do. We can call and talk to them, we can notice them, we can file in courts on them, but we cannot force people to do things. And all the steps we have available to us take time. I was super excited to pay such cheap rent for a newly renovated apartment in a decent area I knew the potential of dangers would come along with it but Ive never experienced so much it 1 year lease. Every experience from break-ins with only decoy cameras on property, to accidental towing with out compensating for being late for my job, to water pouring through the ceiling without being solved for months. My boyfriend & I are very disappointed with our experience with this company. We were told we could move in on April 22... this was a little too early for us so we settled for May 3. A couple of days before move in we got a call saying bed bugs were found on the property & that it was being treated by a professional so we wouldn’t be able to move in until May 17. The Real Facts - Doors are hard to get right now and despite their being ordered we could not get the doors in before May 3rd so on April 29th we talked to the residents and they agreed to a new move-in date of May 17th.
