My rent continues to go up every year, and now Im being charged for a service that should be provided anyway. They now use a service called Piata and the only thing of value is they report on time rent payments to the credit bureaus to help build credit. But they should be doing that anyway instead of charging 20$ a month for it.

I've been in this rental for over 20 years. At Home Real Estate came along about 3 years ago and was hired by the owner because the previous management retired closing their doors. At first everything was fine until one day I called them to inform them that my rent payment might be a day or two late. My girlfriend and I are currently renting a house through AtHome Real Estate. In the 8 months weve lived at the property, air conditioning people have been over to the house on 10 different occasions. Were constantly having to wait for approval from the company or owner to deal with these heating and cooling issues. I have not rented in 35 yrs. I sold my house and the inspection fell through on the home I was going to buy. Having said that, I found myself renting. We signed a 6 month lease, as we knew we were only going to be short term renters. Our lease was up and we were going month to month, until we found a home. This was a mistake by an employee who is no longer with At Home. The employee was asked to "notice" the resident about spare siding that was in the yard. But she got confused and instead noticed them to move. When the resident checked with us on this, we explained that it was a mistake and that they did not need to move. We have apologized multiple times and multiple times we have explained what happened. We are sorry that this happened and that our work to correct it was not sufficient for the residents.

As a property owner who is unfortunately next to one of these rental properties I am disappointed and upset with what you allow your tenants to do. A privacy fence was built by your tenant without regard to having permission, a permit, checking for property boundaries and completely against code. I was super excited to pay such cheap rent for a newly renovated apartment in a decent area I knew the potential of dangers would come along with it but Ive never experienced so much it 1 year lease. My boyfriend & I are very disappointed with our experience with this company. We were told we could move in on April 22... this was a little too early for us so we settled for May 3. A couple of days before move in we got a call saying bed bugs were found on the property & that it was being treated by a professional so we wouldn’t be able to move in until May 17.
