Get directionsCaregivers and wellness people are great, the servers are great and friendly. The Manse is doing a good job. I couldn't ask for better. The staff are happy, have good ideas and I love them like they were my own grandchildren.

It's a beautiful place but out of our price range. My dad wasn't real excited about it when he saw it. It's right in the downtown section of San Luis Obispo. You can pretty much walk everywhere you want to go. I'd say about 90% of our reason or not going there was the cost.

I don't think they were able to deal with her memory issues because that's been a progressive thing, she had been there for 3 years and she seemed to decline and he behavior was not consistent. When she would get upset, basically from what I was told, is that they weren't really dealing with it and they didn't seem to know how to deal with it. It was like an upscale, really really nice hotel so appearance wise it was really nice but I think they're more of an independent living place with some assistance but they do have RNs... read more

The food is terrible. The building is old and needs repair often; some things like windows and hvac units need outright replacement. It takes forever to get anything repaired! Small community is good. Staff is nice.

We appreciate your positive comments about the staff and the community. Though we’re not sure that we are on the same page regarding the food, as we often get compliments. We have a vintage building, so we are continually upgrading and replacing equipment. As we tell our residents and families, the best remedy is to communicate with us so that we can address their concerns.
The facility is poorly managed. It appears the Executive Director doesn’t know what she’s doing. Many staff members have left the facility or seem to be extremely unhappy working there. I have never been treated so poorly in my home.
The PT guy never saw her and that was the main reason we had her there. We later found out he was fired for stealing from the company. She left in the same condition she went in as after 45 days so it was kind of a waste of money and time. She did better at home when visited by PT and OT.

In my opinion the owners and management are uncaring, deceptive and only care about making money. On many occasions I have waited 45 minutes sitting waiting for breakfast. I left the facility with them owing me $1350 and in spite of promises to-return my money, I have not received any of my money. There are much better facilities in San Luis Obispo. I’m in one now and. Much happier. Do your homework. Living here was a mistake.
