Extremely pricey for small amounts of food. Food was fine, but not worth the $180 that we spent on dinner. We were offered salads and it was implied that they came with the entrees but showed on the bill as $13 a piece. $6 for a small cube of cheese and $15 for a one and a half inch piece of pork belly. The entrees were OK. We go to a lot of galas that are catered by Bartolotta and I've had much better food from them at those events. Great service though.
Have had some great memories in recent visits. We will need to forget this one. For having 2 servers at our table, we had to ask to order a cheese plate, filet came out over cooked. I do not mind paying for a special occasion night out, but this was birthday celebration meal to forget. Too bad. Many other fine places to dine in Milwaukee. Will not rush back. Maybe an off night, but they need to bring it every night!
We've eaten here before, we were practically ignored and food was average at best. $250 bill left us feeling disappointed, we weren't wowed at all
I get they make their money with booze but you can keep it within reason. Come on $20 for a Grey Goose and Cranberry?
We ordered the chef's menu. Six courses of the chef's choosing paired with wines. The first course was a beet gazpacho in a shot glass. We were told to "shoot it". It was the consistency of pudding and not "shootable" we had to eat it with our forks. The wine with this course and the next was horrible and not at all good with either course. Our 3rd course was a scallop. Yes, A single quarter-size scallop and not a jumbo. One of our drink pairings was a homemade lemoncello that was like moonshine! A salted caramel the size of... read more
Was really disappointed with this choice. Service was very slow at times and hectic. Waitress got 3 out of the 6 entrees wrong, and a dessert. When I told her I had ordered something different, she told me that what she had given me WAS what I had ordered. She returned a few minutes later to tell me that in fact this was the wrong entree. She did try to rectify the situation by offering me what I had ordered but at that point I had already eaten 1/2 of it. She took some money off of our bill, but not nearly what it should ha... read more
Have spent last ten years at both Easter and mothers day at a batolottas rest. Recently a great experience on Easter at Joey Gerard's .menu at Bacchus was from 2010, crabmeat was anything but back fin Lump, and the portion of coconut cake was embarrising .as a family we frequent many bartolotta's rest. And have never been displeased.
Curried Squash Soup Loved it! Truffled Mushroom Risotto Pasty texture. Flavor was nothing to rave about. Missing on this one. Orecchiette Pasta Squash cubed into very small pieces and not too many. Brussels sprouts were more like leaves than anything and not too much again. It was good, but great no. Could have made this at home. Servers - Susie and Jennifer. very attentive to our table. Susie was a pleasure!
I would expect much better for a resturant of this level. The waiter was arrogant, we were never told of any specials. We didn't find out until the table next to us was told. After waiting over an hour for a table we had to ask when we would be seated. Bar tab was not on the bill. When we asked about it, they acted as if it was an inconvenience and never thanked us. Food was good, but would not go back!
