Everything excellent but music selection and particularly volume during dining was intrusive
Tough gig on boxing day but they did a great job when probably short staffed. I wasn't sure what to expect when I walked in. The place is clean and pleasant but has the they look of somewhere that is hoping to be a chain in waiting. However all these thoughts were sent to the wind when I received the best battered fish I can remember. I hope it is as good for you.
Really lovely, festive atmosphere and they managed to give us a larger table even though I’d managed to mess up the booking (my fault). Service is attentive but not overwhelming. My meal was lovely and the cocktails are delicious.
The cocktails were lovely, restaurant and atmosphere were also lovely. The food was good and reasonably priced but we felt our server was a little abrupt and unfriendly. A smile and a more polite manner would have made our Christmas lunch more enjoyable!

Good meal and surroundings but a little busy and cramped
Quirky place with good food and good service
There was a group who were VERY Merry which I can appreciate is out of your control, however when the bar is so close to the dining room it really does effect the ambiance. To be honest once we were sat I wanted to leave as we were unable to be reseated unless we wanted to go into the bar which has the giant TV screen (despite other tables for 2 being free. I haven’t been for a while and food choice was more limited than I remember. Food quality and service was poor. Ordered a simple ploughman’s sandwich - bread was warm and soggy, cheese was also warm, but not in a nice toasted way. Strange grated carrot on side - not a salad, not a coleslaw. Overall, looked like a very sad sandwich for £9. Drink order got lost and service slow. So many places to pick from in Edinburgh - only reason to go is for the lovely decor and ambience.
