Overall good, but quite slow service even though didn't seem that busy

Nice interior. Friendly staff. Food just ok. The chicken pie veg and mash was produced in 3 small separate containers which made it difficult to eat. The pie was just the contents and thin pastry top ( to me a good pie is the filling inside a good pastry case). My husband had the Sunday roast but this consisted of 3 toast potatoes with slices of beef on top (quite alot of fat had to be cut away) small amount of veg and a Yorkshire pudding. Great atmosphere but big let down on the food. Soup was tasteless. Crispy chicken was soggy as was the fish. No one queried why the food wasn't eaten ( chicken and soup) came with bill and back 2 min later with card machine. Seemed not interested on customer service. The room waa empty bar us . Will probably not be back for food again

Great waitress seated us and soon took our order. Fish and chips were really good— crisp and tasty as they add boiled be. Mushy peas were also great as were the chips. We look forward to another meal here soon!

The food was excellent, but the service was awful. Although there were many staff members around, none of them seemed to be doing anything. We were seated right away, but it took 20 minutes for a server to approach us and ask if anyone had been by our table yet, and if we were ready to order. We ordered both our food and drinks at the same time, yet our food arrived five minutes before our drinks. It wasn't even busy, with only four occupied tables in our area and at least six empty ones. Good good and really excellent ambience in Kenneth Grahame’s home with Wind in the Willows theme. With a little more effort like a themed kids menu and themed activity craft or coloring for kids- could really be an excellent day experience for families. Currently a missed opportunity

We had a lovely meal and a good bottle of wine. It wasn't too expensive and the service and decor of the rooms were great. It was busy, and therefore rather noisy, but it was a Saturday night!
