The service was very good but the dinner options were limited and certain ingredients ie goats cheese and beetroot , appeared in several dishes . The price of some of the the dishes were quite high for the type of dish. The onion tarte tatin was not very nice ( onions needed to be caramelised more as very crunchy and bitter and too many of them on a soggy pastry disc) The vegetable wellington was nice but the some of the vegetables were not cooked sufficiently and hard. Server forgot to lodge our order with kitchen . We were patient knowing it was Xmas but after 45 mins complained when nothing appeared . It took another 15 mins before we were fed . We acknowledge that mistakes are sometime made but someone should have noticed us sitting for that time with no food . We were given a discount but staff should be aware what the tables they are serving and identify when things are not right .

We have had wonderful meals in Scotland but this was really poor. We had dinner there as a four on 14th December. The beetroot risotto with mushrooms was tasteless and the mushrooms were watery. I couldn’t finish it. The steak was well cooked but the peppercorn sauce had just one peppercorn and tasted of chicken stock. Bizarre. The turkey in the turkey paupiette was dried out. Food was delicious but we ordered steak and haggis pie to find there wasn’t any haggis, despite this the steak pie was delicious and cooked perfectly so I couldn’t complain too much. The noise was a little too much I felt like I was shouting my order at the waiter and them back at us just for us to hear.

Meal was very good. If you are hungry have the soup. A good sized portion and excellent. Turkey was very nice as was the fish dish. Scallops starter was beautiful

I usually love Badger and Co, but was a bit disappointed by the portion size when I ordered the vegetable wellington. I wish the waitress had recommended ordering a side dish to go with it, as I didn’t realise it doesn’t come with a side like mash or roasted potatoes, and the wellington was quite small as a main course.

We visited a year ago and it was great, so we booked again. Very small portions. Beetroot tart a disappointment, more like a starter and lacking in flavour. Sad to say we won’t be returning.

Great food and service, staff friendly and pleasant.
The onion tarte tatin was very good but came sitting on a sheet of greaseproof paper. However, we were not charged for it. The turkey paupiette was quite good but the roast potatoes and the pigs in blankets were very underdone, there were no parsnips and only three sprouts. The staff were quick to react and showed their concern at the shortcomings by giving us a discount on the bill.
