Disappointed with roast dinner after reading great reviews. Plenty of meat however roast pots under done and tasteless, very little veg ( one carrot) and some red cabbage. Good Yorkshire puddings though. Overall bland. Had much better in local pub at fraction of cost. Service slow too.
Second time I've been here. Lovely little place, slightly quirky without being twee. This time we had a dog with us (that I'd told them about) and they'd already put a dog bowl of water out so that was a thoughtful touch. Service is attentive but not intrusive. Only fault for service would be that they took ages to come and take payment for the bill. Food is delicious but hot dishes could be a little, well, hotter. Great selection of dishes including great options for vegans/vegetarians.
Been here before and it was really good however this time out the service was poor and food seemed average. I had the Sunday roast which was cooked well but seemed lacking in flavour. They messed up my 5 year old daughters lunch; instead of a kids cheese burger they tried to convince us to take an adults cheese and bacon burger. Food is excellent as are the surroundings, the waiting staff are not very attentive or engaging unfortunately, given they add on a service charge of 10% as an automatic I’d recommend they look to address this.

Food was fab - especially on the Edinburgh city centre set menu deal. Staff were wonderful - super helpful but happy to give time between courses and to chill at the end. Very friendly and funny - made for a lovely evening 😊
Food was good and venue was cosy and comfortable. The service was very good and polite; however, the table was served by 4 or 5 different staff members so was hard to judge individual service and build rapport.
The food was lovely and the service was brilliant too.
