Hake was a bit disappointing, sauce tasted burnt and small portion compared to fish and chips. Starter of scallops was lovely and everyone else’s main looked very good. Dessert menu had nothing appealing - an apple crumble or pie and something else chocolate would be an improvement. Nice wine although no reasonably priced Chardonnay or Pinot was surprising.
Great place lovely food in comfortable setting with excellent service
Everything was great, service was really prompt but didn't get rushed and the food was fab .
In general the food was very nice and the atmosphere as well. However the fish (hake and langoustines) were dry and almost tasteless. The vegetarian dish, fish and chips and the steak were good though.
We enjoyed a really pleasant meal at Badger and Co. The food was a really nice standard for the price point - I’d definitely recommend the venison. Only slight complaint (and I’m disappointed to read that other diners have experienced the same but clearly no improvements have been made) is that we had to chase the waiting staff for menus etc. I guess it is a tough balance - between giving diners enough time so they don’t feel like they are being chased off their table and leaving them so long that they feel forgotten abou... read more
Good atmosphere, good food.Great service, didn't have to wait long for the food. Definitely tell my friends that when they come to eat at Badger.
Food and drink were good and the surroundings and atmosphere were relaxing and comfortable. Unfortunately the service was poor. We had to find staff to take our orders, and ended up leaving early as we couldn't find anyone to order another round of drinks. Also the staff seemed unfamiliar with the dishes as some were delivered with missing elements and they had to check the menu before going back to the kitchen to have it fixed.
Good food and service centrally located. Table next door to us was a bit noisy but there you go.
Sort of OK. But not great at the detail. Some cooking (venison) excellent, some (scallops, sausage roll) not so good.
