Benchmark is scam artist and liars and cheat people and don't really fix what needs to be fixed they cover up most issues I know cause I use to work for the company that fixed there cars and had a few friends that bought cars off them that supposedly had issues fixed but want AVOID THEM AT ALL COST
Business response:
Ryan, we are sorry you were fired by Jim Barkley Toyota. That has nothing to do with us and we have not been affiliated with them for about three years now. We opened our own service shop, years ago now, because of the issues we had with them in the past.
Was going to buy a Vehicle there last year and wantes to pay cash For it and they refused to give me the warranty unless I leased if from them. They only offer warranties if you lease the vehicle. I call that ripping people off because they make more money doing the lease
Business response:
We include the warranty for cash buyers if they pay the asking price on the vehicle. We do not include the warranty for cash buyers when they want the price discounted.
Got an 03 Honda Accord with this company closer to 4 months ago. Right off the jump the car had issues. AC Condenser went out first, no biggie. Then there started to be MORE mechanical issues. Car would hesitate, engine light would come and go, started jerking every time it would switch gears, etc. My wife and I drove the 40 miles to the service station when the issues started, and we were sent home with “nothings wrong with it”. Left the shop that day and the engine light popped on, took it back and got the response “it’s n... read more
Business response:
We are sorry for the issues out of the transmission. Sometimes it is not easy to diagnose and fix vehicles. Sometimes you buy a bad part or other issues arise. We try very hard to never have a scenario where the vehicle isn't fixed the first time, but does happen sometimes when dealing with a 175k mile vehicle, unfortunately. The vehicle is fixed and ready now. Again, we apologize for the time frame in which it took to resolve the issue.
Bought an '02 Camry a few years ago from here. Everything is fine. Bought a '04 Frontier i late March and while driving home, it overheats. They came and got it and fixed the thermostat. All was well. Second week I had it I had to replace a power steering pump, then the starter goes. I had them fixed out of my pocket. I've put less than 3000 miles on it since I bought it, not even enough time to change the oil and today it starts leaking coolant in a parking lot. Thirteen years old with 180,000 miles ....I was hoping I didn'... read more
Business response:
Rest assured we will make it right. Nate, our service manager, is on vacation next week, but we would still like to take a look at it to get ahead of whatever may be wrong. Also, we wouldn't ever expect you to be burdened in the first 30 days with maintenance expenses, outside routine oil changes. Bring receipts to Stephanie and we will reimburse for the starter and power steering pump. We will never knowingly put a bad car on the road. Unfortunately, it sometimes happens with the older and less expensive down payment vehicl... read more
I bought a car from Benchmark auto.. cars price tag was 9999... I put down 3000 dollars and buy the end of the day I owed them 12500 dollars!!!!that's not the worst part... I called them because I almost have the car paid off and they tell me I owe 1 more payment and then I have to pay them over 700 dollars... I can barely afford the car payment but now I gotta figure out how to come up with 700 dollars..... they are a bunch of crooks
Business response:
Mr. Hogsed, we looked into it and are not able to change the payoff amount. We have to treat each customer the same and cannot make special allowances on individual accounts. We did modify our rebate program a few months ago by taking off the 1500 cap, meaning you can now earn rebates in excess of 1500. We hope this a great adjustment to better our customer's experience going forward. Thank you for the feedback. We are always trying to get better.
This place isn't what it looks like. I texted Eddy the night before because I was interested in a 2011 Ford Fusion SE , I went to the Asheville location immediately after getting off of work, I was greeted by Eddy with no question asked and told us we had an hour to test drive the car , we were due back at the car lot at 3:30 and arrived at 3:22. Upon our second arrival, we were greeted by Eddy a second time when he told us to take the car for an additional two hours, so I took it to my bank and to a mechanic to look it over... read more
This place is garbage. Won't even give someone there carseat. Oh we want the keys can you come back with them. Um I just worked a 12 hr shift and live 40 min away also What the hell am I'm supposed to do with the child in the car to even bring the keys to you without a car seat you tell me that. What pay the sitter more money I don't have cause yall wanna be pricks. . Nice job risk a child's safety over a set of keys..
Business response:
Jeremy, we are not exactly sure why you are upset with us. Is it because we didn't have extra keys to the car you had repossessed? We told you to bring the keys with you when you came to get your belongings and you didn't. How is that our fault? I am sorry it didn't work out for you, but I can assure you that we didn't intentionally keep you from getting in the vehicle. Simply put, we didn't have keys to it because you have them all.
