Showed up for my first visit...after leaving work early for this appointment, only to be told that the doctor is sick and leaving for the day. The reason for my visit was a very painful wisdom tooth and I needed this visit to get a referral for my oral surgeon. Needless to say, I will not be rescheduling with this dentist, nor will I recommend him to anyone. A simple phone call would have salvaged a very precious afternoon for me.
I toke my son for his first dental check and came here for insurance reasons. The front office needed to be clean. There is dust on everything and there was so much sand on the floor my son slipped. It was time for my son to get his teeth checked and as I was walking with him the lady told me parents are not allowed to come back with their child. Ummm excuse me!? There are a couple things I look for when selecting a dentist; number of patience in the waiting room, amount of time each patient is seen, and level of communication from the dentist. Dr. Hughes scored poorly in all of these categories. There were five families in the waiting room when my daughter and I walked in. The wait was ridiculous! The receptionist got an attitude. When questioned about tge wait time. I will never go back again! Waited two hours before been aeen. Very unprofessional!!
Horrible Experience! My wife went in and I stayed out with my 2 year old and newborn. My 2 year old was upset amd started to cry I took her to the kids area and not even a minute went by the girl behind the desk stepped to me and said "Sir you need to step outside with them she is startling the patients". There was 1 other patient in the waiting room and my daughter was not causing a seen so I kept my cool and stepped out. Myself and my 9 year old daughter visited this dental office. Making an appointment as a new patient was already difficult and I had to contact the insurance for help. When we finally went for the appointments I have no complaints about the waiting area or the reception staff, but found Dr Hughes gruff and extremely unprofessional. He was unable to respond in a professional and accommodating manner to our specific requests as patients, that related to being explained reasons for procedures. I have had three appointments here, two of which required me to see the dentist. Both of these times I was made to wait more than an hour before being taken back. The work is good and the dentist and hygienists work very quickly and professionally. Some might think the dentist is a bit impersonal, but that really does not matter to me. I went to Mr. Hughes office for a follow-up visit for an adjustment today 8-8-11 and words cannot explain my dismay with how I was treated by Mr. Hughes. He was very upset with the fact that I did not address him as Dr. Hughes. He went on and on about his education and his credentials as if I was not aware that he had them. He told me, " I would have a better relationship with his staff if I addressed him as Dr. Hughes instead of Mr. Hughes. I so appalled that a doctor could be so insecure.
