I guess he hasn't changed much! I saw him years ago (15?), and he had to replace a crown for free and on his dime, which he was angry at me for. I thank God that my insurance company was the one that advocated for me after they saw his mistake, which is the only reason I went back, so that I didn't have to pay to fix his mistake. I'm sad to see that he is still in buisness. I would recommend anyone and everyone go to the Dental School, which is extremely professional, before you ever go see him.
I would rather go to the dental school and have students work on my teeth than this dentist. The first time I met the dentist he did not introduce himself and I asked the hygenist who that man was and she said he is not always in a good mood. He did not wash his hands in between changing gloves from the patient he saw before me which is a MAJOR healthcode problem! I went from a dentist that I loved to this one for insurance purposes and I'd rather pay out of pocket to go and see my old dentist. The staff, though polite are unorganized. First they couldn't find my chart and then they realized that they had scheduled my apointment too close to my last one (which they only noticed after I had waited for 30 minutes)so the insurance company wouldn't have paid it had I been seen at that time. Although the hygenists in this office are very nice and seem to do a good job, Dr. Hughes does not seem to genuinely care about the dental health of his patients. He only looks at a patient's mouth one time per year and only for moments at a time. He is not accessible and is often not even in the office when you go for an appointment. He seems to be annoyed by questions about my dental health. I would not recommend him to anyone.
