My husband and I first experienced Black Bear Diner in Hanford, California while we were visiting. Then we had a Black Bear open up in Chino, California, that was the closet, but still a little ways away. Got really happy when one opened up in Rancho Cucamonga, California, finally, only 3.2 miles, versus, 8.6 miles previously. We love the food, the service and the people, so far. When I have a problem, I let the person in charge know immediately. Our complain is, while we were there, we asked if you they had Senior discount... read more

I have loved Black Bear for many years and have enjoyed my meals in multiple locations. However, my experience at the newly opened store in Rancho Cucamonga was not the greatest. I ordered the meatloaf dinner and the meat was done to perfection. What I didn't understand was having brown gravy over the meat and white gravy over the potato. It seemed odd. My son ordered fish and chips. There was not a lot of fish, they were breaded instead of traditional batter and they were overcooked. My assumption is there are still learnin... read more

This was my first visit to a Black Bear Diner. Unfortunately I am sorry to say I didn't say "wow" after dining there. I felt that it was a typical diner and nothing special. The food was just average. I would not go out of my way to eat there again.

The hostess was not friendly. Our initial server was good, but went to break and did not tell us. Getting any service after that proved challenging.

We were happy with the food . The music was so loud that we were not able to hear each other. We would not invite a friend to go to dinner or etc. at Black Bear Diner because of this matter. Please try to change this problem. When we went to a Black Bear Dinner upNorth the music was soft and brought warmth to the restaurant. Karen was our waitress and she was wonderful.
