In 1995 founders Bruce Dean and Bob & Laurie Manley opened the first Black Bear Diner in Mt. Shasta, CA. Their mission was simple: create a fun and friendly atmosphere where the local community could enjoy huge portions of home-style cooking at a reasonable price. This was our first time at this location we usually go the one in Academy and Galley. The food was really good however apparently they have an issue with the a/c coming in right before the heat does. We would be freezing and then after several minutes the heat would come on and we would warm up then a few minutes later it all repeated. That might be something they need to fix.

Great food, awesome people. Good atmosphere as well
Even though it was Christmas everyone working was so happy and friendly. Great experience.
