In 1995 founders Bruce Dean and Bob & Laurie Manley opened the first Black Bear Diner in Mt. Shasta, CA. Their mission was simple: create a fun and friendly atmosphere where the local community could enjoy huge portions of home-style cooking at a reasonable price. The food is always great! This visit had a party of 11 with a couple children. Our waitress was extremely great handling this crazy group. She had the kids meals delivered early because it helps parents in a group that big. Her constant care of us was amazing! She is an asset to the restaurant! We tipped her 30%. ��

We loved our food and we come from the south (East TN) so we are no stranger to your delish homemade comfort food! The meatloaf was amazing and the greens were so fresh! Also, my husbands catfish was divine. Your atmosphere and hosts were friendly and inviting, and we shall be back soon ;)
