I will never go to another Black Bear Diner again! The food is good, but the service is beyond terrible, not just the one here in Oregon but in California too.

Disappointed. I had the corn beef hash. The potatoes were hard. My husband had the chicken fried steak with the red potatoes ; they were hard too. Teach your cooks how to cook potatoes. But the icing on the cake was having to pay $2.59 for a single cup of coffee; we each had coffee, that's $5.18! That's about a 400% mark-up. We have had other disappointing meals here. Denny's is just a block away.

I love Black Bear Diner but was very disappointed with the one in Grants Pass. French dip was very dry, potato soup was scorched, veggies didn't arrive until half way through the meal. Service was good but they seemed to be understaffed. Lots of dirty tables and they weren't very busy.

If you are going to offer gf burger buns, your servers should know what gluten is. When I asked what was safe (because you have NO allergen menu available), the server kept suggesting the Gardenburger. I want to avoid GLUTEN because it makes me sick. The Gardenburger is FULL of wheat. I asked her to ask the chef. She obviously didn't because she returned just as clueless with the same dangerous suggestions. Some people have life threatening allergies to gluten. Either take gf items off your menu or educate your staff.

Wait time was ok and the wait staff was awesome, but the food was mediocre.

The food was as good as ever. Would have been a 5 rating but wait staff was lacking. Only came by once to fill our coffe cups. Maybe more waiters on a Sunday Morning so each waiter isn't covering so many tables.

Very bad service. Long wait for food. Watched others that came in after us get their meals. Almost walked out. Will not be going back.
