In 1995 founders Bruce Dean and Bob & Laurie Manley opened the first Black Bear Diner in Mt. Shasta, CA. Had many great meals here but last night I stopped in for a to-go order and I have to say it doesn't travel 2 miles in Styrofoam very well. I ordered 3 sandwiches and a pie to go and I got my order and was headed out the door when I noticed there were only 2 containers and a pie. I went back to the host station and explained my order was missing one sandwich. The young man said he would check with the guy who took my order. That guy came over and asked what was wrong - I explained it to him and he said "OK" and walked away. ... read more
