In 1995 founders Bruce Dean and Bob & Laurie Manley opened the first Black Bear Diner in Mt. Shasta, CA. Food quality and quantity were great as were the staff. Our only problem was how long it took to get to the point where we were asked for our order (about 15 minutes) and when the food arrived which was an additional 1/2 hr.. We were there during shift change so that may have had something to do with it. We are going back in a few days to try something different so we'll see how long it takes this time.
We love breakfast at the Black Bear Diner, but we've gone in for a salad twice. The second time the taco bowl was greasy and too done. We'll go back tho. Customer Service is great

Quite a bit of a wait for a table, not a big deal since it was super busy. Waited even longer for our food but it was totally worth it. I got the eggs Benedict with hash browns, which was amazing. My kids ordered the volcano breakfast and chicken strips and they finished off every last bite.
My Husband and I came in last night for a date night & had a great waitress & great experience. Our food was wonderful, we both ordered breakfast and it was seriously so good. The eggs are amazing (Scambled) I had french toast and the way they cook it just taste great. We liked it so much that we brought our kids back today for lunch and we had Ashley as our waitress she was so patient with us having our four young kiddos there, along with being great at bringing us what we needed and did great at getting our refills etc... ... read more
