My husband, 4-year-old daughter, and I tried Black Bear Diner on Memorial today for lunch because several friends have raved about it recently. It was pretty busy when we arrived but were told about a 20 minute wait, which we were fine with. Almost 40 minutes later, my husband went to check on where we were on the list, and they were already well past our name. Food is OK, but service is horrible !! Waited for ever for anyone to realize we were waiting to order our drinks. Then it took forever to be noticed by a waitress, not sure who took our drink order. Then I took my kid to the restroom and our table was completely cleaned off , no silverware, not napkins , nothing! It was a mad house!! Better off going to IHOP or even Waffle House down the street.

We just left and the food was good but it took forever! I’ve never waited so long before being greeted at a table somewhere. Servers walking All around and no one felt the need to ask if we had been helped. People got set all around us drinks and still nothing at our table. Took 14 minutes to be acknowledged pand I had to get someone from another table to get us drinks then magically our server shows up. Took 55 minutes to get our food from the time getting a table. Mashed potatoes were sweet to the point of being inedible, green beans were extremely greasy, gravy for the chicken fried steak was also too sweet to the point of making me eat the steak without it. Someone in the kitchen likes sugar a bit too much.
