I work in an ER and Black Bear Diner was super accommodating to us and allowed our staff to use their Veterans Day coupon without all having to leave our patients to get our meals. The staff was extremely friendly and the food was amazing

I've never heard of Black Bear Diner before, but apparently it's a chain that originated on the west coast. I loved the decor with all the bear motifs inside and outside. Food-wise, I think people enjoy the "large" portion sizes, but I personally don't think the quality is as good as actual standalone diners. (It is a chain restaurant, of course.) I got the California omelette with a side of fresh fruit. The omelette itself has avocado on top, with mushroom and cheese inside. It wasn't the best omelette I've ever tasted, bu... read more

First time here and it did not disappoint. We got avo toast and build your own. The portion was big and so delicious! The diner area was clean and I observed a man cleaning his hand often, gloves were used when handling food and getting bread. I rarely see that now a days and it was appreciated.

I was visiting San Antonio and just happen to see your sign and decided to stop by. We had a very nice and friendly waitress Penny Vasquez, she went above and beyond to make sure our meal was satisfying and our drinks were always full. I will recommend this place to all my friends and family who will visit San Antonio in the future. Thank you for a very tasty meal and a great waitress that made our day even better with her kindness.

This was an awesome place to eat. We went there for breakfast and it was delicious. They give you big portions and the prices are really good for the portions you get. We will definitely be going back!
