In 1995 founders Bruce Dean and Bob & Laurie Manley opened the first Black Bear Diner in Mt. Shasta, CA. Service was awesome. Got the Bobs burger. HUGE they say 10oz. But man is it thick and big. Can't believe I was able to eat all of it. Coffee is excellent. Finally a diner that serves actual coffee that tastes like great coffee. The menu has much to offer. I came for lunch, didn't have a bunch of time. If you do I recommend stroll through the menu. My boyfriend and I visited black bear tonight for our anniversary. I had the taco salad, he had cfs with baked potato. Other than the potato not being done, it was pretty good

I don't usually write reviews, but this place deserves it. everything was AMAZING. the food was amazing, the service was amazing, and the ambiance was so comforting. yesterday was my prom, and originally we had planned to go to Tx roadhouse or 54th street, but as it turned out they were so packed we couldn't get in. so, we decided to try Black Bear Diner and we are so glad we did!! we got in and out super fast, and the staff was very attentive!
