In 1995 founders Bruce Dean and Bob & Laurie Manley opened the first Black Bear Diner in Mt. Shasta, CA. Staff was pretty friendly, our waitress was great! Only problem was food took forever to get - but at least it was hot when we got it. Maybe opening jitters? Will still give them another chance.

Warm and inviting atmosphere. Large portions of amazing food!!! Highly recommend Black Bear Cafe!! We can't wait to go back to try more!

Parking lot was absolutely packed during lunchtime. Food service was slow but food was relatively hot an more than I could eat. I ordered the “volcano” be sure an ask for more syrup when placing order. Saw a biscuit that someone ordered it was HUGE about 3 inches tall an almost covered a restaurant size saucer. Will come back to try something other than breakfast.
