In 1995 founders Bruce Dean and Bob & Laurie Manley opened the first Black Bear Diner in Mt. Shasta, CA. The food was excellent the service and timing of the food coming out was really bad. The first hour we were there we got our drinks then 20 min later we got ours soup salad and cornbread muffins. Then an hour after that we got our food which we had to eat really fast so we could go pick up our kids on time.
Went there for breakfast, Service was pretty decent, and the food was amazing but it did take them a little bit longer to get the food out! But overall the experience and atmosphere was great! Found our new breakfast place 😊
We all liked our food, their meatloaf is the best, mashed red potatoes were delicious, bread pudding was awesome. The portions were generous and we had to have "to go" boxes for the two light entrees we ordered.

Had an early morning Breakfast all alone before work & it was glorious. Nice cup of coffee, eggs, bacon, biscuit with gravy & awesome hash browns!! Could not have asked for a better start of my day. Oh yah I forgot about the fresh squeezed OJ!!!! Great food & friendly service.
