Well honestly I feel like I just got robbed... I suggested for a business lunch that we go to black bear diner. I wasn't really hungry and I just wanted a waffle. I ordered just a plain waffle with no sides and a water. To get a bill of $8.99 for a waffle is a joke! I don't think I'll be recommending black bear diner for anymore clients because those prices are ridiculous! Btw both more coworkers ordered sandwiches and sides and paid less than me...
Have always loved going to Black Bear Diner from Co.Springs to Mt.Shasta, but tonight in Vancouver WA it was the worst ever!! Not busy for a Friday night and now I see why. The food was atrocious, cold and the vegetables were so under cooked to be raw, and table server was trying hard but certainly not well trained. I am so disappointed and embarrassed since I brought a good friend bragging all the way about how great BB Diner was. Restaurants only get one try at our house. Tonight we visited The Black Bear Dinner in Vancouver WA. Our server did his job well. I had the Rib Eye with mashed potatoes, Italian Green Beans, Soup and a Corn Muffin. Svetlana had the Bbq Pork Ribs, Baked potato, Italian Green Beans and Salad. My soup was served barley warm, it was supposed to be broccoli cheddar but tasted like creamy broccoli. Caned green beans with bacon bits not hot. Mashed potatoes tasted like they came out of a can. Went here tonight for dinner with my family my 2 kids both ordered off of the kids meal which comes with either free ice cream or fresh cut strawberries with whip cream, I ordered the small portion volcano and my boyfriend ordered the corn beef hash, when he took our order he asked if my boyfriend wanted cheese on it and my boyfriend said yes he didn't tell us there was any extra charge, my water was completely empty for 10 min before he finally came around to refill it, also... My wife's meal was served later than mine. She insisted I eat so my food wouldn't get cold. My meal didn't come with the corn bread as advertised. The chicken fried steak was mediocre. Won't be coming back.
The "big" portion I was warned about wasn't even close to being so. Unless you count the big pile of hash browns. I have gotten bigger portions at I HOP. In my southwest scramble, I got some eggs with the jalepnos and olives. 75% of my scramble WAS NOT egg! My wife's corn need hash was so crispy she couldn't eat it. Went for the first time the week after Christmas and it took over 50 minutes to get our food and manager brought it out and just said... sorry but did not offer us anything for the crazy wait. Gave it another shot tonight with Family and we sat for 10 minutes without being greeted. Finally went to the cashier and asked for someone to help us.
