The place was nice the service was very good but the food was way to salty or had no seasoning at all
The appetizer we shared was very good, however the filet and crab entres we ordered were dry and flavorless. Definitely not worth the inflated price.
The waiter was friendly however we were in a tight space and he actually hit my daughter in the head on 3 separate occasions with 2 plates and 1 bowl. He did not apologize he just continued with his process. We went there to celebrate Christmas and well the food was good but other than that I was disappointed. 3 different people came to clear plates from the table and each time they took 2 and walked away leaving additional plates. I have no issue paying for great food and great service however on my second trip to Bond 45 in a month, I had the same regrettable experiences. The service staff tries but is not up to the caliber of the brand or the hefty prices. The kitchen has some bright spots but way too heavy with the salt. $40 for the fish special (two olive stuffed branzino filets) would normally be $25.00 at a fine establishment in DC. Nice location but I hope they make some changes.
Steak was good, cooked as ordered, but everything else was fair, but overpriced for what you receive. Service was poor, no one at the entrance to greet you and sitting at the bar area was not what I expected.
I was very excited about dining at Bond 45 for the first time. My daughter lives in NYC and loves the Bond 45 there. The food was mediocre and very expensive. The service started out okay but then dwindled down to nothing. No refills on our waters and the waiter seemed surprised when he collected our plates because my daughter had to ask if she could take her pasta home (85% of it was still on her plate). I cannot imagine spending $130+ for lunch for 3 people there again.
Welcome POOR: hostess sat my husband in an area for a large party, sat my business partner's wife in another area, while the 2 of us walked all over the restaurant looking for our spouses. Reservations were made months ago! Atmosphere POOR: table napkins stacked on windowsill behind curtain in clear view, while setting tables staff threw plates on tables, LOUD party across the hall that took away from our dining experience. The server was dis-engaged. We had to beg him for little things like olive oil and re-fills on ice tea. The food was average and for the price, below average.
High expectations were not met. Nice ambience but service was slow, waiter forgot an entrée and the steaks were not to desired wellness - steaks were all under cooked. Better management and chef are needed to remain competitive.
