Great service but extremely expensive (everything a la carte including $11 for a small side of pasta with $47 veal entree) for a slightly above average meal.

The food was good but not great for the money. They ran out of focaccia at 6 p.m., and no one came by to refill water. The waitress was pleasant but mostly absent.

Great location and nice ambience. Mozarella was excellent. Had a pasta entree and was very fine though not exceptional. We did not have steak which is a specialty.

Great atmosphere and very comfortable. We were not sitting elbow to elbow with other guests as in many Manhattan Restaurants. The seared artichoke hearts were delicious and our steaks were cooked to perfection.

Still a great place to order antipasto before theater. But portions have shrunk and seafood deal has been eliminated.

We arrived in New York on 16th September 2010 (3 of us) and were to meet my inlaws (3 of them) on that evening (they arrived there the day before to go on a cruise to Quebec the next day). The trips were for special occasions for 3 of our 6 (40th, 60th & 70th Birthdays), so we wanted somewhere where the food was good, the atmoshphere was good, and somewhere that looked typical 'old' New York (if that makes sense).
