Too loud, crowded and food is nothing special. Old looking inside. Good if you need a place to eat fast before a show and cheaply.
Guy the manager was a superb host and Bill the server did a great job.
The booths for two are tight for tall or large persons, made tighter by the fact the absence of any coat racks means you share your seat with your coat. Classic sandwiches are worthwhile choices and the place is small enough so getting the waiter's attention is easy enough. All in an all a good location for a business lunch with no complaints, just nothing to elicit a rave.
We were seated right away at a booth in the back. At first we were delighted but then realized we were between two extremely loud parties. It was hard for us to hear each other even though we were in our own booth. The food was delicious but we feel overpriced. I had the “perfect plate” which was hummus, greens with a delicious vinaigrette, quinoa and pita. It was $19.95. My husband had the chicken pot pie. When it arrived it was absolutely huge. Great neighborhood place. The food was surprisingly good. I will go back.
Their famous chicken pot pie had a flakey crust, scrumptious white chicken, great flavor. Service was great. Love reading the plaques with all the famous people who have eaten there.
A classic NYC consistently good "more than a diner." Friendly staff, delicious food, great location near Carnegie Hall makes this a go to place under any circumstances and at all time. A favorite of this family.
