My Rueben sandwich was excellent. The hamburger and the burrito bowl that my friends had were excellent as well. But that was just a prelude to the best dessert that I have had in years: the Grubman chocolate blackout cake.
Brooklyn Diner is a real old-fashioned diner. We like the feel of it. The service is quick, but you are not rushed. The food is good and basic. We have only had breakfast there, so I can't comment on any other meals: omelets, eggs & bacon, and lox and bagels. All good.
Always great to be back at Brooklyn Diner - food, atmosphere, service - what’s not to like !
I enjoyed my salmon entree, but my two friends weren't enthusiastic about their food. The taco bowl one friend ordered was not very tasty/appealing. We should stick to the restaurant's standard offerings next time. I would recommend to a friend who's interested in more typical deli fare or hamburgers.

I haven’t been to this location in decades, but it was so kitschy. I ordered my usual — The Perfect Plate w/ Grilled Salmon and, as usual, it was perfect. I think the portions are slightly more generous at the Times Square location but the servers in both locations are always really friendly and professional. My only complaint is the cost. Excellent service from Chris Food was really tasty
Brooklyn Diner is very convenient when we have Carnegie Hall tickets. I tried the hanger steak. It was cooked as I asked, but rather tough. You can't go wrong with the chicken pot pie if they haven't run out. The service was particularly good. It wasn't too busy, so the noise level was tolerable. It can become deafening.
