Used as a copier. We use this item as a copier, but it also can be set up as a wireless printer. We don't use the printer/fax features, but love it as a copier. We replaced an expensive copier with this reasonably priced printer/scanner/copier/fax. We love it.
Nice for home office Reading all the reviews online made for a fairly simple setup of this printer! 1. Downloaded the entire setup software suite onto my Win 8 machine from the Brother website. Forget the cd. 2. Unpacked the machine, hooked up the phone line and phone extension, and set the fax answer to 'manual', and turned off all the beeps! 3. Ran the network cable to my modem. Very easy To Set Up Excellent quality. Document feeder works well. Scanner software a bit cumbersome, but mainly use as a Fax & Printer. Noise is not a problem, because machine only makes noise when actually working, then puts itself to "sleep".
Workhorse! I love this printer. It's fast, wireless, 4-function and takes large inexpensive laser toner cartridges. I do not miss color printing with all of the benefits I get from this great machine. It's worth noting if you want to use the wireless functions you will not be able to use it wired to any machine. Also, a separate app is needed to print from an iPhone or iPad. Explore the brother print and scan app from the iTunes store for more.
Great Had my previous brother for about 10 years and loved it. So I got another one, and it's even better. One thing I preferred about tho old one was that it loaded from the top and with the loading drawer I forget when I need to change from one type or size of paper to another, which I do weekly. It prints quickly, a real bonus. The other drawback for me is that when doing a sideways print the top comes out on the left, making it harder to fold while printing. Great for home and school I got really sick and tired of buying new ink cartridges, so I made the switch to this guy. Works great with Macs and PCs. The scanner quality is a good as any I have used.
Highly recommended I have purchased three of these; one for home and one for each kid in college. Great purchase price, low cost per page, fast, easy to install, and reliable. All three have worked flawlessly. No more ink cartridges.
Great Printer Good quality, well built. Warms up and prints fast. I've read some reviews about it being noisy, but this is not an issue for me at all, I don't think it is noisy. Scans work flawlessly and you immediately have the option of selecting a .pdf or .jpg file type. I got mine on sale for $129. Try it, you won't be sorry.
A really great all-in-one I've had two Brother monochrome laser printers in the past and really liked both of them. I wanted an all-in-one this time and this particular product appealed to me because of everything it can do and because I've had good luck with Brother printers in the past. This all-in-one is very quiet and very fast. The print is very crisp and dark, even on the toner save setting. It copies so fast I can barely keep up, MUCH faster than a inkjet printer.
