I rent a house that is managed by Byers & Harvey. Our AC unit went out during the heat of August. Called multiple times to be told that we had been put on a waiting list for repairs. A month goes by with no fix so we decide to contact the homeowners. Just got these guys and not happy so far. It took a long time to be able to get the login info for paying my rent. Also it's quite ridiculous that it's a 20 dollar convenience fee to pay online. Never in my life have I heard of such a fee. Heck all of my utilities are a 3 dollar fee. I read so many reviews that said this company was money hungry and now I see why!

Today I experienced rude staff. I got there at 7:50 I waited til 8..I went in to pay rent door was unlocked so I waited to be assisted. I said hello someone yells from behind the desk yes..I said are y'all open it's 8 she says no and you'll have to get out very rude. It was not my fault the door was unlocked early so they say I went back out and waited til 8:10 my phone, moms, phone, radio and news rime..she told me I had 5mins left here it is 8:15 I go in no one is still ready when I was finally assisted I was fustracted ca... read more

Where to begin..... Our original property managers were Topflight Realty. However, during our lease the responsibility for managing the property changed to Byers & Harvey. Little did we know the kind of hassle they would cause us upon the termination of our lease. During our closing inspection, the lady who conducted it told us we needed to replace items that were in the apartment to begin with and kept telling me that it was all minor stuff that needed to be fixed. The lies started from day one. We were retaliated against for filing a complaint, and they seem to enjoy causing stress around the holidays. A lot of the 5 star reviews are friends, family, and employees. It doesn't take much research to verify that. Make sure you know every aspect of the Tennessee Landlord Tenant Act if you will rent, or are renting from them. You'll need it!!!

They do NOT respond to maintenance requests quickly, and when they do, they lie about their responsibility for it. Then, they try to terminate your month to month lease in retaliation. I have documentation to prove my point, a lot of proof. They have also had employees and family of employees giving 5 star reviews. That proves how deceptive they have been!!
