The restaurant was bustling inside & out. Service was very slow. I love the shrimp scampi, but the portion at dinner was skimpy. Portions of other foods looked huge.
the food was good, and the atmosphere was quite nice. we ended up sitting inside as it was a bit on the warm side, but the outdoor seating across from lincoln center is nice. i had to dock the service a bit because of how long we had to wait to get started (water, drinks, attention, etc.). and it wasn't even that busy at 5:15-5:30 when we first arrived. to be fair, we did have one person arrive late, which might have caused some confusion with the food later. however, the staff was very polite and attentive when they focused... read more
Cafe Fiorello had good service. The wait staff was very attentive. The food was ok, nothing life changing here. Tiramasu was a let a down. If you are looking for a people watching restaurant; this is your place. The inside seating was a bit quieter than the outdoor. The tables were very close to each other as well.
Considerate service from all staff makes you feel special. Diverse and extensive menu selections all of which lead to delicious meals of abundant proportions. The yellow-fin tuna with balsamic glaze is my particular favorite and my date last visit rated the tagliatelle comparable to the best we sampled in Bologna! Among my personal top ten choices for special occasion multi-course feasts as well as "something light" after a performance at Lincoln Center or a local movie.
Food is delicious and the service is great - place is a little crowded and noisy.
Our waiter was attentive, the food was very good. When they ran out of my entree choice, I was given a reasonable substitution choice which was brought promptly. Then they gave us free aperitifs.
We had a wonderful experience at Cafe Fiorello. I had asked for a quiet table in my reservation, and they kindly put us at the back of the restaurant in a corner. We didn't realize how noisy the restaurant was until we left! The service was excellent - and the food wonderful. We are looking forward to returning often to this great restaurant = so convenient to Lincoln Center.
We live in the neighborhood but haven't been to Fiorello's in quite awhile but we will go back soon. We might have been intimidated by the big Lincoln Ctr preconcert folks, tons of tourists or the late nite chic pretty people drinking outside. It's so crowded for many reasons - good food & lots of it plus friendly service. Get Fiorello's famous fried artichokes - we got double orders. First time there was with a fan of the place and another Fiorello's virgin. The host was both accommodating and gracious, the waiter very personable and the back staff very attentive. On a Friday night at 7 PM or so, the place was buzzing, and the ambiance was still great. A note to people planning on getting to a show on time, try to chat AFTER you order, so you can get thru the meal.
