Great restaurant and location -- close to Lincoln Center. The food, service and ambiance met all our expectations. We had a reservation at 5:30 pm which avoided the theater crowd. Their seafood specialty entree was excellent.
Fine to get you to Philharmonic on time
Just changed the menu. Been going to Cafe Fiorello for many, many years. Noise leve high, some tables much better than others. Food is always served hot and service most of the time is good. Once again my favorite meal has disappeared off the menu. Maybe I was the only one who liked it-LOL. Stinky bread selection has been the same since way back when. Desserts (quality) have gone downhill IMO. Just as well as I can save the calories.
Always fun, lively and ,of course, convenient to Lincoln Center, but the food has been going down hill a bit lately (my veal marsala seemed to have been under the heat lamp for at least an hour) while the wine prices ($15 to $20 a glass for something descent) have been going up hill dramatically. I hope they get their quality and pricing back in line, or the convenience factor and fun ambience will loose their compelling allure.
This was the Best dinner I have had out to eat in a long time, if not ever, the atmosphere was great, the service was great, but I made a special request, the host let me know that they were unable to accomodate placing a rose at the table, as it was valentines day, but he said they will have chocolate covered strawberries instead, so i shook my head and thought, well thats nice, expecting them to bring them after the meal, but the only thing that came was the check.
The wait staff was friendly and quite accommodating! It was difficult to tell if Cafe Fiorello was actually participating in the 'Restaurant Week Extension'. The portion of the main entree was tiny ~ but so delicious (shrimp scampi). I enjoyed sitting in the banquet dedicated to 'Placido Domingo' ~ nice touch!
I enjoyed my meals and the antipasto selection, however, I had made the reservation in advance and had specifically requested to be seated in an area with not a lot of traffic... and where do they sit us? next to a half wall where the waiter deliver our food close to our heads. What's worse they kept bumping into us. So I wouldn't recommend it for a romantic dinner.
Very crowded and noisey but food was enjoyable. Can't imagine that the number of people didn't exceed fire code.
Very good - I would just advise people to make a reervation espcially on a Saturday.
