The white wine from Napa and the pasta and salad dishes were very good. Seating was somewhat cramped on the tables in front of the salad bar. The $8 Afogato was also a bit pricey.
Met some old friends last night , sat outdoors with a great view of Lincoln Center. An hour later the rain started. The staff immediately helped us moved further inside the awning so that we would enjoy our meal during the storm.
A good start in critiquing a restaurant is the bread. Here it was served warm and fresh baked, Appetizers of fried artichokes and of meatballs is tomato were a devious but filling way to start. We then has just room enough to share a Margarita Pizza. Theirs was in my studied opinion the best in the City, if not else where as well. The crust was paper-thin. the tomato sauce was fresh. Generous placement of fresh ricotta and mozzarella cheese and baby tomatoes was tantalizing. Don't forget to help yourself to delicious chocola... read more
The service was very nice , the food was amazing , the wine list good, but the waiter should have advised us that the plates are so big that we can share. There was. A lot of food left over.
1st time there, I was attracted to the reviews and that it was close to Lincoln Center. This was important because I was seeing a show there at 7:30. That said, I was very impressed with the house cabernet (by the glass) which was an exceptionally good selection: Franciscan California label. The bread basket contained freshly-baked artisan bread and large flats. I had sautéed mushrooms for an appetizer, my wife had sauteed zuchinni. Did not like the zuchinni-too tart. The mushrooms were overly thin-sliced, but savory. As an ... read more
Cafe Fiorelli is a classy and lively, elegant place for lunch or dinner. It is located right across the street from Lincoln Center so it is a great place to come before a concert or show. Food is delicious. We had the $19 pizza which is perfect for two. A basket of interesting breads are served with the pizza. The staff and service were superb. It can be a bit loud but that is because it is such a popular place. Outdoor seating gives you a special view of Lincoln Center. Would come here for a special occasion.
This is a place I go every week! The food and the service are always top notch and the view of Lincoln Center is just beautiful.
A party of 3, we arrived at 5PM for a light supper before a 7PM play at Lincoln Center on a Tuesday night. The cafe was not crowded then and the noise level was low at that time; we were very comfortable. All of the staff were cordial and the service was well-timed. Two of us had the "create your own" (choose 3) antipasto plate from a large selection of great items at the bar, and the other person had the special lasagna - very different and very good. We all enjoyed our experience and would definitely return.
I've searched high and low in this country for authentic spaghetti carbonara and found it here! In most places, they use alfredo sauce which is creamy and say it's carbonara but it's not. Carbonara is an oil-base with pancetta, peas and usually a fried egg (runny if it was authentic in Italy) on top. They made it here and I was so happy to get it. It was very tasty and combined with the caesar salad as a starter made it one of my favorite meals to date. Will definitely go there as often as I can when I go to Lincoln Center f... read more
