Really enjoyable night at this busy place with a nice buzz about. Great bar eating although we were on a table. Good food, if pedestrian presentation. Dessert was yummy but missed out on our first choice of tartufo as the little old lady who was in before us and who I had seen devouring her dessert, had ordered the remaining stock to take home! Helpful, friendly and knowledgeable service by our Aussie waiter. Need to go back and have some of that tartufo.....
Services during New Year's Eve, is at best, difficult. But Cafe Fiorello is a gracious, smart and well conceived restaurant. We enjoyed a most delicious seafood risotto with lobster with great sparkling wine. A careful, but pliant, waiter guided us through the specials anf found us a wonderful booth - studded with names of former and current patrons. Bob Costas would still be proud. Thank you for a great evening, then off to the operetta, Die Fledermaus at Lincoln Center, then the start of a new year 2014.

Great spot for dining after attending an event at Lincoln Center. Nice varied Italian menu, with a beautiful antipasto bar up front. Waiters managed to deliver good service in spite of very busy post-opera lunch crowd!
Food is absolutely delicious. Although the food took longer than normal to be served. It took over 45 mins before we got our main course.
Shar and I have been coming to Cafe Fiorello's ever since we moved to NYC in 2012. To a person, the staff makes you feel at home, especially Zulf Shariff, who's energy in charge conveys to his staff. The food is exceptional, the ambiance perfect for family get-togethers, dates, after-work gatherings, or just dinner after a hard day's work. The table for our group of 5 was not at all comfortable - the joining of 2 tables resulted in having one seat that was of irregular height. I have been to Cafe Fiorello many times in the past 7 years, but this has been the only experience that was not totally satisfactory.
Love it when the outdoor section is open and inside sitting at the bar is great. Always a fun time and good eats to boot.
The food is always good here. But, I must say,our waiter was exceptional. He was a pleasant Brit who went out of his way to make our evening successful. I'm so sorry I did not get his name!
