Been going here since they opened the slot floor. Pros: Non smoking, slots. Cons: Place has come to cater to the clientele which is Miami Gardens. People machine hog 2-4 machines at a time and only bet 1 line/minimum bet. I haven't won a dime here for about 5 years, and I go every weekend for free play, and of course I play at least 100-500 out of my own pocket. I am solicited every single time I go here. The casino is small. The food is horrible!! The food at the buffet is nothing but frozen food heated in the steam tables~~veggies aren't even that warm! The small restaurant area is only open Thursday thru Sunday & is not good!! Has a fish sandwich which tastes like eating paper~~no taste! The race track is only open two months a year now & the poker rooms at the casino & track are closed. It's not worth going to!

Would give less than one star if I could. Not a people friendly place. Racing area seating covered with bird poop, very dirty and nasty. The casino is probably one of the worst payouts in all of Florida. Casino attendants are not friendly at all. I has to wait 18 minutes for someone to come fix the machine I was on and gave me an attitude about it. Basically if you love your money then I would not recommend going here.

Casino restaurant is a joke. Ridiculous buffet set for the elderly! Clientele is very suspect. Have to keep you eye on the people next to you while playing slots. Card room staff is the only reason to visit. I would go to all other casino location before calder!

It's a lot smaller than it looks---heeyyyyo! They have $10 free play when you sign up for a card and when I went there last wk, I got $20 in free play thanks to an ad in the paper so keep your eyes peeled! The one drawback? The sketchy people there. Good God, I wanted to whip out my camera because they people were Peopleofwalmart league However, they do have free soda in two convenient locations in the casino so that makes me warm on the inside. Ok.....and the fact they have a Sex and The City slot game is frickin awesome... read more

What a squandered opportunity. A day at the races could be so much more - just take a look at Gulfstream Park. Calder could not do less and still operate. There is no flavor or flare here. Horse racing in and of itself is so exciting, but somehow the folks at Calder manage to take the joy out of it. I can only surmise that they are simply playing to the offtrack betting crowd because they do nothing to enhance the offering at the track. There is nothing going on. The food offering is horrid.
