Savanna was great. Not a customer here but came in to get something notarized and she hooked me up. Wouldn't mind coming here again.
I have been using the credit union for my bank needs for tons of years! I have had multiple loans through them at reasonable interest. I also use a rewards card so I can travel easier. As long as I live in Utah I will keep the credit union. The staff members are always helpful in answering questions I may have.
Their mobile banking app made some money dissappear, which by itself wasn't a big deal. It's the fact that it took 4 credit union employees to read and UNDERSTAND bank statements, transaction history, dates, money in, money out. Stuff that all bank employees should be fluent in. I had to yell and scream at them for them to understand how wrong they all were about the amount owed back to me. If it takes a minimum of 4 employees to understand bank records. My family has 5 accounts with Canyon View and my spouse and I have been members for 25+ years. Our youngest son has had steady income for 5 years (no breaks) and he just graduated welding school and got a job in his field making great money. He has $15k in a certificate with them and another $10k in savings. Twice he's been turned down for a $500 credit card that we wanted him to have to help him establish credit (they said he needs at least one year of continuous employment at his current company). Terrible, there are hundreds of betters banks in this state choose literally any of them and you'll have a better experience than I've had. I can't actually prove that what they are doing is shady or dishonest, but there are a lot of things: I cannot make payments direct to priciple unless I go in person. The payment portal does not have access to the rest of my account, so it is very difficult to see how much I still owe on this loan. I have been a customer of Canyon View Credit Union for over 10 years, dating back to when it was still called University of Utah Credit Union. Between my husband and me, we currently hold six different accounts with them. Recently, due to financial needs, I transferred money from an external account into one of my husband's Canyon View accounts. The website (since the switch from UFCC) is simply awful in comparison. People on the phone are still nice, but the prior web site functions were so well done and this one is rookie league at best. I spoke to a rep who said that it can't be helped or made better because they have nothing to do with the website. It's it's own thing. Wow.
I would give zero Stars if I could. The collections representative Rebecca was rude and did not have no empathy at all worst customer service that I've ever experienced in the world. I believe that they should take a course on empathy to teach all of the representatives about empathy because not one representative has empathy whatsoever. I would never recommend a family member or friend a co-worker anyone to this credit Union in my life!
Avoid having a car loan in this place at all cost. They do not allow you to pay off the car online; they have limits on how much you can pay per transaction and a limit on the amount you can pay off per month. Other than taking cash for the full amount or a cashier's check to a physical location, there is no other way to pay off the car.
