Gary's company did a "heavy up" on my electrical panel at my 56 year of 1100 sq ft home. He gave me alternatives to work within my budget and electrical usage. He explained (and handled) the appointment process with PG county and Pecpo for inspection and final hook up of a new electric meter. I called CET and talked to Gary and gave him a rough idea about what I needed. He gave me options from his team doing everything to me running the wires to the panel, supplying the materials and having his folks just hooking things up. The price was very reasonable and so I ran the wires to the panel and called Gary back when I was ready. Overall, it went pretty smoothly, with a few exceptions I'll state at the end. The exceptions involved BGE's part of the job, not Certified. The first step was getting and estimate from Gary. He came out, assessed the needs of the job and wrote up and estimate. The job was to be completed on a flat-rate basis. The electrician they sent, Danny, was very professional, knowledgeable and he did a good job. I asked him questions about some other light fixtures I have and he very kindly gave me advice. I don't know what the average rate is for electricians, but so far these guys were worth every dollar.

First, the price was my deductible for my home warranty. The overall price included $50 for the materials used and a minimum of $125 for an hour labor. I think there may have been an additional half hour of labor as well. But $75 was the cost to me. The ceiling fan in my master bedroom had a habit of turning on and off when various small appliances - clothes iron, vaccum - were plugged in, or the master bathroom exhaust fan was turned on. We scheduled for early Monday morning. The electrician called early and gave us the option of starting earlier. Fantastic, and he got it all done in a little over an hour. We want with the hourly rate option, good choice it seems, very happy with the service provided. This service was exemplary of why this company is highly rated.

I have used CET's services twice. I used them several months earlier for a small "test" job before hiring them for the larger job that this review refers to, and in both cases, the office was great to work with, and the electrician was prompt, professional, and thorough. I spoke with Gary at the office, and Alan is the electrician who came to our house. Our outdoor high voltage ligthing system was causing our circuit breaker to trip because of a short in the system. CET came out with all of the necessary tools and parts to fix the system. They had to dig outside and diagnose both inside and outside. I was particulary pleased that not only did he do the job in two hours he was very careful to remove his shoes before entering the house each time. So we were very happy to have our outdoor lights to be operative again without having to replace it.
