About this business
When my grandfather built this motel it was called The Charloy Manor. My grandparents lived on the property for 20 years welcoming their guests to the Jersey Shore. I continue in that tradition by living at the hotel to see that your stay is a pleasant and enjoyable one. We are located across the street from the beach and one block from the famous Seaside Heights boardwalk. Our stay was okay overall. The location is definitely the highlight—the beach is just across the street, which was super convenient. The check-in process was smooth, and the front desk associate was friendly and welcoming. The outside area was decent, though people smoking near the entrance of the check in area took away from the experience a bit. The room itself was just okay—it could really use some updating. We have been coming down to The Charlroy for the past 10 or 12 years. Our only go-to place to stay in Seaside!! The girls were so accommodating when we wanted to stay an extra day. They found a room for us, and we moved to that room for the extra night to extend our vacation. The location, friendliness of the staff, and motel itself are the reasons we keep coming back! The only negative thing is having to pack up and go home after a great vacation ❤️ Thank you again...Kristen and Joe
We usually stay in 4- and 5-star hotels, so this isn’t normally our kind of place, but we wanted to be walking distance from beach and boardwalk in Seaside Heights and there weren’t many options. It’s not the Ritz-Carlton. Rooms are very dated, broken outlets, vinyl baseboard repaired with staples, etc. Mild musty smell and mattresses not great. Extremely dissapointed with our stay this weekend. I booked a 3 night stay here for our 3rd time and was very dissapointed with the cleanliness of the room. This time I brought my 9 month old and after walking in to see how dirty and run down it was I had to leave after the first night. The staff seems to get annoyed easily and don’t really care about anything. Our last trip here was 2 years ago so we were very shocked. The pool was the cleanest part of the entire experience. First night of my stay and I already love it. Throwback oldschool motel done right, beach right in eye sight, boardwalk access/restaurants are all in walking distance. Perfect for those who want a true relaxing vacation where you don't need to drive, don't need to go anywhere at all really as everything is right here! Editing this after the tip to say that this place and area is medicine. I'll be back often
