I love Cherokee Animal Hospital! They are so nice and treat my sweet kitty with such care! My cat has even been boarded there and she loves it! All the doctors are super helpful and know what they are doing!
We've been taking our dog, Ginger here for approximately 4 years. Never boarded her, just office visits. We have always been pleased with the service. Staff is very loving and caring.
After almost six years of business and approximately $ 2k in 2 weeks, $981 plus some chump change on one specific cat. We were told absolutely no conclusion as to what was wrong with our eldest sphynx cat. After explaining exactly what happened the day before, it made absolute sense as to what was wrong. They ran all the tests, bloodwork, and x-rays. The labs came back a smidge high, and immediately this vet stated it was due to having parasites and/or Giardia. Mind you, we have five other cats at home, completely fine, with... read more
If you like being scammed and overcharged and talking to a bunch of salesman that care way more about bottom line than your pet this is the vet for you! I leave feeling gross every time I walk in here, as soon as I can afford a new vet, and to do a new vet exam again, I am dropping this place so fast please do yourself a favor and never get started with these guys! Blech.

Hi Karen, We're sorry to hear that you were disappointed with our veterinary hospital. As a team dedicated to the well-being of all pets, we take your feedback seriously. We strive to provide clear communication about our services during appointments. We wish you and your pet continued good health.
Wanna get charged more then what they tell you over & over? Wanted be accused of lying about 1 flea medication left out of bag after going there years and years & being charged $500 and over every visit? Want your dog to have razor burns? Then this will be the vet for you.. They are absolutely one of the most expensive vets!! Read the reviews!! But wait!! They' will give you a couple dollars for being old!!
Business response:
Dear Mama S.- Thank you for sharing your feedback. We are so sorry to hear about your disappointment with us. The essence of our values and who we are all start with patient-centric compassionate care and best-in-class service. We wanted to reach out to you directly, however, we're unable to locate you in our system based on your Yelp username. We would very much appreciate the opportunity to speak with you directly so we can investigate your feedback further.
Biggest scam artists in Johnson City. Pet owners beware. They always quote you a price and when you show up to drop your dog off they always try to add and extra "needed test.." of $30-40.. this happened to us 4x before we got tired of it. Not surprising their ratings are so low. Beware!!
Business response:
Hello Mike Hensley, Thank you for taking the time to provide us with your feedback. We are sorry to learn of your disappointment and feeling that we were somehow less-than-forthright with our quote for your pet's most recent visit. Pets need to be on Heartworm prevention continuously, without a missed dose. If a dose is missed, the pet runs the risk of contracting heartworms. When you came in for your visit, we realized your pet was not on any prevention, so a heartworm test was recommended to ensure your sweet pet was free... read more
Run from this business if you love your pets. Especially Robin Simpkins. My daughter's 13 year old cat had a tumor in her sinus cavity and she kept treating her for an infection for months. The poor cat was suffering so much and we couldn't understand why. When I finally spoke with Dr? Simpkins about the pain the cat was in she was cold and angry. Very unprofessional and mad that she had to take time out to talk to me. Dr S finally prescribed a kitty Ibuprofen in a large white pill form that was EXPIRED. (no liquid availa... read more

Hello Jean K., Thank you for sharing your feedback. We send our sincerest condolences to your family for your loss and are extremely sorry that we fell short in providing you the compassionate patient experience you so deserve. We take our mission of providing world-class compassionate care very seriously and learning of your experience is very troubling. We would like the opportunity to investigate your feedback further and learn more about the situation so that we can assure it never happens again. Would you allow us t... read more
Took very sick dog to this hospital, they were very rude and was not accepting any more patients. Very, very unsatisfied. Even had the nerve to tell me very rudely when I entered the door with my pet for excessive bleeding "You need to go back out that door and call us. Can't you read the sign?" Then when I call them from trhe parking lot and explained the situation I was told "We are not accepting any more patients at this time. I had to leave there with my sick pet and drive all the way across town to EasyVet Clinic on Peo... read more
Cherokee is just money hungry and doesn't give two shits about your animal. Even after you fork out $500 to them they still try to take as much as possible and not even treat your animal. I would recommend NEVER going here and going else where.
