Business response:

Bobby: We are so sorry you had this experience at our hospital. We weren't able to locate you in our system with the limited information that Yelp provides, but if you could share your full name and pet name, we'd like the opportunity to look into your visit, as well as see how we can help you during this difficult time. You can email our hospital manager directly at bwright@cherokeevet.com or give us a call at (423) 928-7272. Thank you!

BEWARE OF THIS PLACE! I give them zero stars, but Yelp won't let me. After reading the reviews of Cherokee Animal Hospital, I felt the need to share my story. I boarded my Maltese and Doberman there once for a week and when I picked them up, they were filthy and starved. I thought this was because they were upset at being left for a week and didn't eat. Well, I left them a second time the following year for a week with instructions to feed the Doberman canned food if she wouldn't eat dry food when upset. I even called ... read more

MONEY HUNGRY. DO NOT TAKE YOUR PET HERE! On Friday March 30, my daughter took Bagel to this vet because he had labored breathing and kept falling over. Bagel was 11 years old. I was in the area and I met her there. The vet we saw was just out of school. She stated that the he could have had either kidney failure or heart failure and treating 1 or the other could cause the other organ to fail. She stated a blood panel would help us know more. His panel came back that it was just his heart. We were informed that he was on... read more

If I could rate less than one star, I would. My list of grievances is long for just one office visit with my two fur-babies. My 4 month old kitten started showing sudden signs of difficulty with keeping her balance and walking. I called multiple vets, but decided to go to Cherokee because they could see her the soonest. I regret this decision. I went ahead and took both of my cats, so that they could get vaccinated. However, the main purpose of the visit was my kitten suddenly becoming ill. When they were seen, the entir... read more

Boarded our 6 year old English Setter for the first time ever several weeks ago - the staff was awesome at drop off and pickup! Extremely friendly and welcoming - no complaints until a week and a half later when we had to take him to the after hours clinic and then to Nashville to our family vet where he was diagnosed with Kennel cough. I called to let them know - hoping at least for a credit of the kennel cough shot he was given at check in but all I got was an I'm sorry and we will scrub everything down. $400+ later for ve... read more

Business response:

We always strive for a higher standard of care for our loved patients. There are many strains of kennel cough and our vaccination is only one strain. Ideally the vaccination should be given 2 weeks before a pet boards, this is something that we have reviewed with our staff so we can better communicate this to our clients. Kennels and runs are disinfected daily and whenever a patient is moved from that kennel. We appreciate you taking the time to let us know your concerns, as this give us a chance to improve.

This is a difficult review to write. How are healthy and full of life yellow lab, Jack, is not doing so well. We boarded him at the Cherokee hospital for two nights two weeks ago. They screened him for kennel cough. Two days later ironically, Jack showed signs of kennel cough. We took him in and also found out that said he had a yeast infection in his ears. Keep in mind that Jack has never, never been sick in the eight years that we have had him. They gave him an antibiotic for the cough and eardrops for the infection in ... read more
