This place was recommended by my cousin it's really hard to fine vets for little fur babies like trying to find a doctor for yourself or for your child. I live in San Francisco it's like 20 to 30 minute drive it depends,but it was worth it because the vet doctor Thea couture Dvm. I'm so grateful we found Dr. Glahn at this clinic right after we moved to the coast with our two aging cats. Dr. Glahn and her staff always pay careful attention, answer all my questions, some that I don't know to ask. Both Lennie and Sophie seem very calm in the examining room, though Lennie prefers the window sill to the examination table. Ditto on all the good things in previous reviews.
To me, finding a good vet is like finding a good pediatrician. I was searching for a vet that "gets cats" and am very happy I found Dr. Glahn! Obviously Coastal Cat Clinic is very cat-centric practice. The entire staff "get cat"! It was worth it for me and my Bobby and Kana to drive from San Francisco to Pacifica. After taking our cat to the oceana pet hospital in Pacifica and seeing the (not so nice and caring) service there, this was the PERFECT visit for our cat Ninja. Cathy was super nice and professional! She made sure that our cat is comfortable and not stressed out and was able to pin point the issue without sedatives (unlike the other hospital that rushed to put her down and charged us extra money for it). Thank you so much! and will most definitely bring back our pets again!!
Hands down the best place. I wish I had known about this clinic years ago. It would have saved me a lot of frustrations. I went to the SFSPCA for 13 years and they are great during an emergency but for day to day care not really as you see whomever is available and they are so busy, the vet doesn't review your chart. Coastal Cat Clinic is dedicated to their furry clients.
My older cat Nico had to have all of his teeth extracted, except the front four due to absorbsion and infection. He had lost a lot of weight and was pretty unhappy. The surgery took about 3.5 hours and recovery about 10 days. He's gained weight and is back to his normal self; purring, playful, snuggly etc. Thanks to Dr Thea Couture for doing a wonderful job on the surgery and for her wonderful manner.
Took my kitten June to the clinic for her FIRST vet visit ever! She seemed quite un alarmed, which must be because there are not dog smells as there might be at other vets. She was handled very gently by the staff, and I felt also comfortable here. I felt that she got great care and it was as smooth a visit as one can ask for a kitten (which can be a potential nightmare for animal and owner). I wouldnt take my cat to anyone other than dr G!!! Her knowledge & empathy is unbelievable! All techs are great too! Sometimes theres a wait, but its because dr G is so thorough & patient. I feel very well cared for by CCC, & so does my kitty, 19 & in stage 2 kidney failure, but w/ treatment shes holding her own & fighting like a champ!! Also, their prices are reasonable/lower than many other vets, but w/ incredible service!
