After 6 years of calling this clinic for an appt. , only to be told “just come in”, I decided to “just come in “ for a test for heartworm in order to obtain a prescription for Heartgard. Upon arrival, was told, “You have to call for an appt. now, or you can stay today & wait, but it will be an extra $45.00. Since the Heartgard was not needed for 17 more days , made an appt. Hello Kay, I am sorry to hear of your negative experience. We looked into the problems with your prescription and found that the pharmacy sent over a fax on 9/1 at 6:27pm (after hours) so it wasn't logged into our system until 9/2. We then faxed back an authorization on 9/3 at 12:11pm (roughly 36 hrs later). When we receive an online or faxed prescription request, we have to go through each chart to verify the medication status, correct dosage, exam status, etc. It then has to be reviewed by the DVM and signed off.
