This was my first visit to Philadelphia, and I opted to stay at The Meridian because I have had good stays in some great rooms in other cities. I suspect many hotels in the area are, as this hotel was, surrounded outside with loiterers and homeless people; that’s the nature of being in a city. The bus stop right out in front of the Meridian didn’t help. But as a female traveling alone it made me feel unsafe. My rooms air conditioning unit wasn't working properly upon arrival and I asked for a technician. The staff said they were on the way and after an hour no one showed up. The unit worked intermittently while I was there and I called again.on the last night and they had no engineers after midnight so only option was to change rooms. Was just a really expensive hotel to not have this kind of issue addressed.
