Cracker Barrel is upping their menu it seems. The Louisiana shrimp dish was fantastic! The rice had some uncooked pieces perhaps in an attempt to get a fried rice texture? Overall great dish. We had some fresh cornbread and biscuits, of course. Noah, our waiter, did a great job of taking care of us and was super friendly. In fact, all of our staff encounters were positive. Checked in at 1159, seated at 1220. Our waiter was great, but the time it took to get our food was horrible. There were only 2 in our party. I had the Grandmas breakfast platter, and she had mac and cheese Buffalo chicken. It was well after 1pm when we finally received our food. Several others that were seated around us, after we sat down, had already sat, ate, and left before we even received our plates. Our food didn't even come out at the same time. Today was absolutely Magical at the Cracker Barrel in Athens, AL. I’m in town for work and today everything is covered in snow and the snow is still coming down. It’s beautiful. Since I couldn’t be at home to enjoy my wood burning fireplace, I decided to come and enjoy theirs while having a late breakfast. As I pull into the parking lot, there is a family building a snowman. This place is horribly understaffed, which isn’t fair to the workers. I ended up sitting on the floor while waiting because the store is so packed with product & like Walmart on Black Friday. As a Stage IV survivor, I can’t stand for lengthy amount of times and it was 35° outside. They were more focused on the retail than the restaurant. Once we were seated after a 45 min wait, the server was great & so was the food. However, if you’re waiting 45 min when over half the tables are empty, you need to hire more people. After ordering and receiving my entree and one side I waited 15 minutes for my baked potato and I wanted to eat it all together so I ended up eating cold spicy catfish fillets. It wasn't the server's fault it just didn't come out of the kitchen together. Had a new server he did his best he did try very hard. But the food could have been better and the service was acceptable,
