It used to be something special. A place where wonderful hardworking people could earn their living selling fresh food that you couldn't get anywhere else. Now it's nothing but people selling things at higher prices that you can get anywhere else. The Farmer's Market was the only reason we ever drove to Dallas. So...see ya never Dallas

I agree with other reviewers. It appears corporate greed has destroyed this market. It must've dated back to the 1940s. In the past & yes as early as in February we visited the FARMERS MARKET. Maybe technically it was a produce stand. Maybe technically it wasn't. But there was fresh fruits and vegetables for sale at great prices. Better than at stores. There were trucks in parking places and there were signs over each space that told the county they were from. Seemed legit. Anyway we could buy a variety of produce, seed... read more

This place I grew up loving is GONE. I have so many cherished childhood memories of this wonderful place and now it is a shame. The huge pavilions I used to stroll through and sample the wonderful produce are gone, the vendors are gone, the feel and the atmosphere that made it such an enchanting place are gone. What I saw today almost brought me to tears. There were no vendors I knew, replaced only by people pushing candles, blankets, pickles, and a load of other goods I can only refer to as common flea market cheap goods. ... read more

I have been going down there since I was a little kid. I'm guess 50 years or more. They have ruined it completely. It was such a beautiful place to visit but not now. There is no parking. No more barns for food. It's turned into a lower Greenville area now. It doesn't have that old time feel as before. I won't ever go back. It is truly sad how the dallas sites have been ruined by modernization. Guess in 5 years they will have it finished. Don't bother going down there. You won't find anything except very high prices ... read more

Made a trip there. Nothing but empty land. Torn down. One shed way in the back. Not open. Don't waste your time. You'll likely only find a yoga class going on.

The Availability of Produce from farmers in 2015 is terrible. The old farming families that I used to enjoy seeing every year are no longer there this summer. The vendors have to sell in small quantities at Whole Foods Prices. No longer can you park close to the market and one has to make several trips to the car to carry fruits and vegetables to the car.. The market is only open on the weekend, and then at 10 AM , a little late in the summer. We used to have the best farmers market in Texas , but no more. I suggest to take... read more

Don't waste your time going to the market this year. Between construction and the farmers they've ran off its not worth the trip. Now you'll find homemade doggie treats, soaps and $3/ea tomatoes...each. Extremely disappointed!
